MAGIC DOOR
Innovation without careful planning always suffer from high percentage of failure, though the innovators may have right concept. In this project, we used effective tradecraft to help us plan and craft our innovation, and we also leverage platform and ecosystem to improve the chance of success. We also explore prototyping methods not only for users, but also for the business and technology. Thinking about an innovation from all those three perspectives can develop an idea into a good business. In this project, we try to explore the frontier of VR/AR technology to help industries to adapt those technologies.
After researching, we find people sometimes can't join in some exciting events physically because of multiple reasons. So we take advantage and special features of VR/AR technology, and provide easy access to unique interactive events with higher quality and better customization both when they are on site or off site. Instead of simply building a product, we built a platform where different stakeholders can participate and grow their business.

VALUE PROPOSITION
For people who can’t fully access to live events on real time or location, we provide easy access to unique interactive events with higher quality and better customization.
USER SCENARIOS
When the event is happening, users can enjoy our service on site by viewing extra information layers through AR and multiple perspectives aggregated from other users through VR. The user can also immerse themselves in the live events through VR when they can't join physically.
After the events are already ended, our service can revive the scene of those events on top of the real environment through AR (this is our main service and the following use case is about this function). Also users can enjoy those events through VR anywhere anytime.
USE CASE
Basketball games on site are not always accessible to anyone. By using our service, users can find a nearby empty basketball court and put on their VR glasses and select games they want to watch. They can watch historical games and also live games. Also they can track specific players in the game and get extra information quicker any more interactive.
VALUE WEB
As a platform, Magic Door will involve event hosts and amateur video recorders and editors into our system. As shown in the roadmap below, we will hire professional recorders and editors at the beginning to ensure the quality of videos, but we will also involve amateurs at the same time, and help them develop their skills by connecting them to resources. With more amateurs become experienced, they can turn into being paid for their work. Finally there will be no full-time employees anymore, and all the recording and editing work will become project based, so the platform can sustain by itself.
